  • If my Ex Husbands Name was removed from the deed

    Hi, if my Ex's name is off of the deed but is on the mortgage, does he have to apply for a short sale with me?

    Yes, even if your ex is off of the deed, it doesn't mean they don't have a continued responsibility to the mortgage company that you got a mortgage with. So, the mortgage company would require both of you to apply and provide financials to be considered for a short sale.

    If you have refinanced or anything after the ex has been removed from the deed without your ex on the mortgage, that would be different. Then, the answer would be no.
